BIOGRAPHY

Sabire B. Algül, born in Istanbul in 1980, completed her high school education at Çemberlitaş Girls' High School. She studied painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, completing her undergraduate education in 2012.

Since 2009, the artist has continued her painting studies, first in Beyoğlu Galatasaray and then in her studio in Boğazkesen. She has also taken courses in ceramics, carrying out interdisciplinary works from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Sabire B. Algül currently continues her work in Istanbul.

ARTIST STATEMENT

In her works, one can observe the use of images that are as unrelated as possible to each other and the prominence of spatial abstractions. The elements in the compositions—vibrant colors and abstracted objects—strengthen the space in the painting while creating a new order of unity and presenting an ambiguity.

The open composition works enhance the uncertainty that images continuing outside the frame can create for the viewer. Thus, instead of presenting a clear image, infinite possibilities can be created.

It proposes a new kind of knowledge that creates intuitive experiences beyond daily consciousness and perception.
