“I paint not objects, but their emotions.”
I strive to establish an open, honest, and spontaneous dialogue with the viewer, free from ostentation and grand narratives.
I want to speak freely and simply; not to be afraid to squeeze an entire tube of paint onto the canvas, to experiment with dust, varnish, and enamel, and not to be limited by a single series or theme.
I hope that this sense of freedom and comfort I feel in my work is also reflected in how the artworks are perceived.
My creative process begins not with a subject, but with an image-emotion. For example, while working on one of my series, I recalled a specific day and the feeling it left me with. That feeling was yellow.
Yellow was the mood, the atmosphere, how the world felt at that moment. The resulting image was also yellow.
“Yellow was the mood, the atmosphere, and how the world felt at that moment.”
